We strongly recommend you take out comprehensive personal travel insurance to cover you for any unfortunate events including trip disruption and force majeure that mean you will be unable to undertake your adventure. Please make sure your travel insurance covers you in these events as we cannot be held liable for incidences where we have to cancel your adventure due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

Our sessions start promptly and you may be joining other people on your adventure. For this reason it is important you aim to arrive well before the session start time as it may not be possible for you to catch up with the rest of the group if they have already started the activity. Late arrivals may be classed as ‘no shows’ and forfeit their monies.

You may substitute members of your party with at least 7 days’ notice.

If you wish to change your booking to another date (within the same season) you may do so, at North Star Adventure’s discretion with at least 14 days’ notice.

4. If We Cancel or Make Changes

In the event of us having to cancel an activity for circumstances within our control, all monies will be refunded or a free transfer to an alternative date or activity of the same value (where available) offered. North Star Adventure can not be held responsible for events beyond our control including unsafe weather or environmental conditions such as water levels. Thanks to our knowledge and expertise, we will nearly always be able to provide a meaningful alternative should we be unable to deliver your original itinerary and we reserve the right to do so. It is very rare that we would have to cancel a trip without being able to offer an alternative venue. No refunds can be made for such events which is why we strongly recommend insuring yourself against such events.

5. Insurance and Safety
North Star Adventures UK has full public liability insurance. It is the nature of adventurous activities that there will always be some degree of risk and the only way to avoid risk is to avoid participation. Our insurance does not cover you for inherent risks or client negligence. Whilst not mandatory, we strongly recommend you consider arranging your own personal insurance to cover you for any accidents on our adventures. Following our leaders’ guidance and instruction is imperative for your safety and their word is final. We reserve the right to make changes to planned routes and venues as a result of environmental or team concerns.

6. Alcohol and Drugs
North Star Adventure UK also reserves the right to refuse clients that they believe to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and in such circumstances no refunds shall be given.

7. Parental Consent
It is a legal requirement for anyone under the age of 18 years to be accompanied by their parent or legally-appointed guardian. No exceptions can be made to this condition.

8. Private Groups
Private group bookings require early allocation of staff and resources. Private bookings are priced according to the size of your group. We will always provide our customer with an illustration to show the final price based on the final number of participants as we recognise that you may need to add or remove participants from your original booking and the final price you pay will depend on this.
